The Beaver Scout Section

Being a Beaver is fun with lots of activities such as making things, playing games, singing, going on visits, investigating nature, learning how to be safe and most importantly making new friends. The Beaver group is called a colony and will normally have up to 24 children and a minimum of 3 leaders, with our young leaders this is usually more.Within the colony the youngsters belong to small teams called Lodges within which they learn to work and play.The colony has one camp a year (usually in the Summer term), which gives the Beavers a taste of being away at camp for the first time. 

Joining the Beavers

The first thing to do is put your name on the waiting list (an e-mail to emaloney1985@gmail.com) ideally before your 6th birthday, but not before age 5½. Once your name is on the list we will contact you as soon as a place is available. After attending for few weeks you will need a uniform. Then it will be time to make your Promise to the colony and become a member of the World Wide Family of Scouts. "Subs" of £30 are collected at the beginning of each term, this includes the membership fee that is payable annually by the group to The Scout Association
