Joining the Scout Troop

The Scout troop meets on Tuesday nights and caters for young people aged 10 and a half to fourteen years of age. Some youngsters will join directly and some transfer from the Cub Pack. As with the other sections new recruits will attend for 3 or 4 weeks before they will need a uniform and be ready to make their promise. "Subs" of £30 are collected at the beginning of each term, this includes the capitation fee that is payable annually by the group to The Scout Association

The Scout Troop

Scouting is all about having fun while giving  young people the opportunity through outdoor activities to develop skills and confidence in their own judgment,  They learn to work co-operatively with others in their patrol system and as they progress take more responsibility, developing leadership qualities.

The  movement is now over 100 years old while it still retains its core ideals it has constantly re invented itself to keep in touch with the youth of the day. Scouting is the world's largest youth movement and the UK numbers are higher  than they ever have been. It is quite common for friendships made in the scouts to last a life time, come and Join us!
